Frequently Asked Questions
Clear definitions, validation rules, and how administrative annotations work.
1. How do you define a "Breeder" on the platform?
A breeder is defined as any person who has produced at least one registered litter. This distinction allows us to clearly identify the origin of health declarations and track lineage traceability from the very first breeding act.
2. Why was my document rejected?
The database applies a strict validation protocol to ensure data accuracy. Information may be rejected if:
It comes from a private, non-public source (e.g., Messenger screenshots, personal emails).
It is not corroborated by an official report or an annotation on the pedigree.
The administration deems the transmission method or the relevance of the information insufficient.
3. Can I register a dog without a pedigree?
No. Only Beaucerons registered as purebred with a recognized canine organization (e.g., CKC, SCC, AKC, FCI) are eligible, in order to guarantee lineage traceability and compliance with the breed standard.
4. What does the yellow flag symbol on a profile mean?
The yellow flag is a neutral administrative annotation. It is not a value judgment of the dog. Its function is to flag important data, whether it is a health result considered abnormal or specific information that has been officially validated.
5. Why is my dog's epilepsy listed as "Unknown / Unspecified"?
For epilepsy, this classification is systematically prioritized. A different cause will only be displayed if you provide a formal veterinary medical report certifying an origin other than the default one.
6. I saw some information on Facebook; can you add it?
Data from social media is handled on a case-by-case basis. It is generally classified as "Owner Declaration" or "Suspected" and under no circumstances replaces official sources for health certifications.
7. How can I correct an error on a profile?
The database relies on the community's vigilance. If you identify an error, please contact us by email providing the necessary evidence (certificates, veterinary reports). Private evidence is only accepted if the information has already been made public voluntarily by the person concerned.
8. Is your data intended as breeding recommendations?
No. Beauceron Archives provides factual and verified data but does not interpret the results. The responsibility for assessing the risks associated with a mating lies entirely with the user.
9. Where does my donation money go?
As a non-profit project managed by a breed enthusiast, donations are used exclusively to cover hosting costs, 24/7 technical maintenance, feature development, and legal fees.
